Follow up and Tele-medical services through Video Conferencing

After the women are discharged from Mission Ashra, a proper follow up is carried out for the next 3 months. At the time of reunion required medicine is provided to the recovered women for another month.. Video conferencing arrangements are under process which will help in remote monitoring of the well-being of the patients, along with regular follow-ups. This would help the doctors to render their services from Bhubaneswar to the reunited women in different parts of the country.

Reunion and Integration

Mission Ashra strives to ensure a better life for its inmates. Once the doctors declare any of the residents recovered, a full-fledged attempt is made to locate their families. Once the family is identified and reunion is confirmed, the inmate is discharged with small ceremony in the campus. So far the organization has been successful in reuniting around 1200 (as of 2018) number of women with their families. The reuniting process is carried out through official correspondence, personal contact, counselling, motivation and also by using judicial intervention if required.

Rehabilitation/ Vocational training

The inmates at the center follow a particular routine which has scheduled prayer, yoga, outdoor activity, dance movement therapy and vocational training. The interested inmates of the center are engaged in various occupational and skill development training according to their areas of interest and capabilities. Bamboo craft, wood art, dance and music, art and painting, incense stick making, chalk making and kitchen gardening, are some of the training given to residents at the center. Psychological counselling

After women are brought to mission Ashra shelter home, they are kept under observation. Counselling process starts when the women are considered ready to receive it. Besides the traditional methods, modern therapies are also used to get better result. Currently the center is using pharmacotherapy, activity therapy, group and individual therapy, yoga, alternative therapy viz. music therapy, art therapy, plays and games and occupational therapy. This is done to re-socialize them and help them in gaining consciousness of their presence. The center has a treatment unit where both indoor and outdoor patients receive treatment free of cost.
